Sahara is now a part of Indian Polo


Sahara India Pariwar, a major business conglomerate, launched its polo team – Sahara Warriors — for participation in national and international tournaments.The team played its debut game at the Indian Masters Polo Tournament in New Delhi on Friday.The team consists of renowned players such as Samir Suhag, Adhiraj Singh, George Meyrick, Max Charlton and Siddhant Sharma.

Speaking about the new initiative, Roy commented, “We are proud to associate ourselves with this great game, which has created legends in the past. I feel really honoured to be associated with the royal sport of Polo it has its roots in India and represents the glorious heritage of India. Sahara India Pariwar is happy to be associated with this iconic sport and I hope it will provide encouragement to both the sport and the sportsmen. We are also hopeful, that following our efforts to encourage Polo, other corporate entities will also come forward to support which will eventually benefit the game and its exponents.”

The team uniform of Sahara Warriors is blue and white with Indian National tri-colour strips. The team uniform is designed by the celebrated costume designer Neeta Lulla.

Apart from Indian Masters Polo, Sahara Warriors will also play the upcoming Sir Pratap Singh Cup and Baroda Cup at Delhi and Royal Salute Cup at Jodhpur, this year. In January, the team will play the Mount Shivalik Trophy and Vodafone Sirmur Cup at Jaipur and in February, the team will participate in Scindhia Gold Cup and Northern India Polo Trophy at Delhi.
